Industries / Technology

Fast, secure freight for high-value technology.

Secure handling, lithium battery compliance and launch coordination for electronics, where speed and security are the baseline specification.

The priority

Speed to market

Consumer electronics lose value on a curve measured in weeks. A four-week ocean transit can cost more in product depreciation and shelf-life than the entire air freight differential, so we treat the mode decision as a margin calculation, made with the finance number in front of you.

How we handle it

  • Confirm battery classification, packing instruction and UN number before a booking is raised.
  • Plan routing to minimise dwell at handling points where high-value cargo is most exposed.
  • Coordinate multi-market launches to a common arrival date with clearance pre-positioned.
  • Model the mode decision against depreciation and shelf-life as well as freight cost.

Key challenges

Four challenges we plan around.

Lithium battery regulation

Batteries and battery-containing products carry state and operator variations on top of the IATA regulations. Classification is confirmed before the flight is booked.

Theft exposure

High value in small volume is the highest-risk cargo profile. Route, handling points and dwell locations all matter more than usual.

Launch date coordination

Product launches require simultaneous arrival across multiple markets, with embargo dates that hold in both directions.

Rapid obsolescence

Slow transit costs real margin through depreciation, which changes the mode calculation entirely.
